Having the mindset of giving back to the community, Hotel de la Coupole aims to provide memorable experiences for all guests through daily sustainable solutions. Since the opening in 2018, we have participated directly and proactively in protecting our environment and the development of local communities.

+ Donation for disadvantaged households – an initiative which sets out to contribute to the development of the local community by offering two female water buffaloes to the two underprivileged families in Lao Cai.
+ ‘Bagged With Love’ – a campaign to support children in need by selling customised merchandise with imprinted patterns drawn by young autistic artists.

GO GREEN AND NURTURE THE NATURE
The once-quiet town of Sapa has experienced a surge in both domestic and international tourism in the last few years. In the rush to meet travelling demands, Sapa’s natural environment has been threatened. To protect this unique ecosystem, Hotel de la Coupole has put action by minimising plastic products and reducing the energy consumption, including:
+ Introducing exclusive eco-friendly in-room amenities (soaps, shampoos, shower gels, bed sheets, towels,…)
+ Using eco-friendly magnetic key cards for guest rooms
+ Avoiding single-use products: tissues, paper towels, disposable cups, bin liners
+ Using eco-certified cleaning products
+ Offering eco-friendly printing paper and implementing a systematic measure to reduce the amount of paper used for printing.
+ Eliminate all plastic individual bottles of toiletries and disposable plastic cups.
+ Proposing guests to reuse towels & linen by default
+ Banning the use of overfished species and offering wild fish or fish farmed using responsible methods.
+ Catering for different dietary requirements
+ Stopping using palm oil
+ Offering responsibly-produced tea or coffee
+ Complying with water flow standards for all showers, taps and toilets
+ Ensuring that all waste water is processed
+ Using energy-efficient light bulbs
+ Receiving power from a ‘green’ electricity supply
+ Insulating the domestic hot water, heating, and air conditioning networks, as well as devices with significant heat loss
+ Commissioning an expert to perform a regular water/energy diagnostic on the hotel
+ Having the building’s thermal performance checked regularly
