Com Lam is a staple dish in the Northwest of Vietnam made from glutinous rice cooked inside a bamboo tube over an open fire. Made to be shared between communities of people, this simple yet delicious staple is often enjoyed during festivals, celebrations, and outdoor activities.

This Lunar New Year, have a family gathering take your chance to participate in the authentic experience of creating traditional delicacy with special Com Lam Workshop, where hearts are bound together close and tight, just as the bites of sticky rice bounded together by tubes of fragrant green bamboo.

Visitors coming to the Fansipan Heavenly Gate Opening Festival are not invited to the lively recreated native Northwestern New Year celebrations like the Put Tong festival of Red Dao people, Gau Tao festival of Hmong people, but also a mini version of the bustling market of Ban May while playing full up throttle folk games and relishing great native foods in the vibrant Hmong Horn Festival – Northwestern Spring Radiance.
